Mō te tūnga - About the role
The Communications Coordinator position is to ensure the smooth delivery of the communications plan. Working with Carlos Cheung MP you'll ensure everything runs effectively and efficiently from monitoring the inbox to social media activity.
Based in the Mt Roskill electorate office (remotely at first while an office is opened) for 16 hours per week, you'll be working to support the very machinery of Aotearoa New Zealand's democracy.

We're looking for someone with excellent verbal and written communication skills who actively shares information, ideas and their experience with others.
Ngā haepapa - Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation of the communications plan
- Support and administer media (including social media) content for the Member
- Ensure the smooth operation of the Member's role by providing administrative support where required (diary management, travel, and finance support)
- Actively monitor all communication channels, including the Member's social media for issues of interest/concern
- Respond to correspondence and emails, and escalate correspondence where required

As an employee of Parliamentary Service, you will be politically impartial in your role. An awareness of the political landscape may be beneficial in supporting your MP.
The pay band for the role starts at $65,630 per annum (prorated for part-time) and appointments will be based on skills and experience. All employees who work for MPs are employed on an 'events based' agreement, with your employment linked to your MP. While an electorate office is set up in Mt Roskill this role will be based remotely, for 16 hours per week,
