About the role

ACC's vision is to create a unique partnership with every New Zealander, improving their quality of life by minimising the incidence and impact of injury: Improving lives every day. The Integrity Services Team is responsible for preventing ACC from fraud, waste, and abuse.

The Integrity Compliance (Fraud Analytics) team protects ACC's sustainability of the scheme by preventing fraud and abuse from people who interact with ACC. The team is responsible for delivering data-led anomaly detection and monitoring tools, which enables ACC to be more effective in their interventions to prevent fraud and abuse.

The Integrity Compliance Analyst collaborates with internal customers and other experts across ACC to design and implement fraud prevention and detection systems and tools. The person in this role will:

  • build and develop analytical tools and reports using their data science-based experience and skills to inform timely and accurate interventions to reduce and prevent potential fraud
  • find valuable insights and trends that drives action for their stakeholders through identifying opportunities and ask the right questions
  • bring their innovative and creative thinking, and explore new data capabilities, e.g. exploring AI machine learning (ML)

The base salary range for this role is $73,196 - $94,724 with appointment in the range depending on skills and experience. ACC also offers 9% superannuation.

About you

  • Ideally at least 1 to 2 years of relevant work experience, preferably in data & analytics teams in a related discipline.
  • Proficient in programming languages and analytical software e.g. SQL, Python and R.
  • Proven ability in data science techniques including predictive modelling, data visualisation, and machine learning exploration.
  • Relevant experience in designing and carrying out projects, then effectively communicating the results and insight to stakeholders.
  • Proven problem solving and ability to implement solutions
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written), with the ability to tell the data story to a range of stakeholders
