We have a flexible structure whereby the role will be based with the Lakes Opioid Treatment Service as well as General Adult Psychiatry (with an addictions focus) and may rotate to in-patient or other community positions over time. The role is based in Rotorua but includes clinic days at the satellite office in Taupō. The role has a strong focus on forging relationships and working closely with the Lakes addictions partners, Manaaki Ora (Rotorua) and arc Counselling services (Southern Lakes).

Te Ara Tauwhirotanga is the product of extensive co-design with over 400 participants from the Lakes community, a model that clearly articulates what works for people in their recovery and healing journey. The successful candidate will have:

• A broad range of general psychiatric skills, with specific experience in Addictions

• Hold or be eligible for Vocational Registration with Medical Council of NZ

• Enjoy teaching – Rotorua is a teaching hospital with 4th, 5th and 6th year medical students as well as registrars training for fellowship with the RANZCP

• Membership with NAOTP or equivalent preferred

The role:

• Busy role with a broad variety of addictions and general psychiatry

• 1:6 on call roster
