We seek a Senior Programme Planner who may also have worked as a Senior PM / Delivery Lead before to join a current programme of work.
Technical skills/background that we are looking for include:
1) Programme planning,
2) Schedule management,
3) Milestone variance reporting
4) Go Live Management with a team in place to support.
The Programme Planner will be supported by the Programme Scheduler and Planning Advisor (who will report into the Programme Planner) to lead planning maturity uplift and maintenance across the entire programme.
The Programme Planner will ensure plans are robust - leading targeted stress-testing and QA across plans as well as ensuring that the programme schedule is kept up to date, maintaining integration of plans. A monthly dashboard report will provide the Programme Leadership Team and the Programme Steering Committee with insights into schedule variance and slippage against key milestones.
The Programme Planner is responsible for and leads the full programme quarterly planning and prioritisation process (now well established).
This is an hourly rate contract to June 2026.

Technical skills/background that we are looking for include:
- Extensive programme delivery experience - programme manager level in large-scale Public Sector delivery, with a mix of business and digital change
- Scheduling - experience developing large scale delivery plans, in a complex and highly concurrent delivery setting.
- Planning - experience assisting teams to develop work breakdown structures, map dependencies, and test sequencing assumptions.
- Schedule management - managing monthly, weekly and daily updates to schedules across multiple teams
- Resource levelling - identifying over- and under-utilisation of resources and identifying opportunities to redeploy resources accordingly
- Schedule reporting - developing dashboards to identify key schedule variances / slippage and the flow-on impacts to key milestones
- Infrastructure delivery experience (must have) - planning, managing and reporting on nation-wide technology and infrastructure roll-out programmes
- Technology delivery experience (must have) - planning, managing and reporting on large scale technology programmes including integrating new software as a service (SaaS) solutions into legacy platforms
- Operating model delivery experience (must have) - planning and managing people change programmes
- Agile delivery experience (must have) - the programme is using hybrid delivery methods, and we need someone who has experience in agile-hybrid delivery who can bring pragmatic solutions to how the work gets done.
- Transfer of functions experience (if possible) - planning and managing the transfer of functions between organisations
- Planning tools experience - Jira (must have), Microsoft Project (if possible)
