  • Christchurch - Hillmorton Health Campus
  • Permanent part-time (32 hours a week) - Monday to Thursday, or by arrangement, 6:30am - 3pm (hours can be negotiated at interview stage)

About the Role

Health New Zealand is looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join our dedicated WellFood Department at Hillmorton Hospital to help feed our tūroro (patients) and whānau (family).

Our Cook  (team) are responsible for ensuring that the needs of each tūroro (patient) is met to the highest standard. Following standardised recipes and using creative flair to present food that we can be proud of while maintaining clean and tidy working areas.

Salary starting from $29.25 per hour, Based on the Etū Multi-Employer Collective Agreement.

About You

We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and flexible candidate who is able to bring their passion for food to our Hillmorton facility.

You will also be responsible for maintaining and adhering to our Food Control Plan, Health New Zealand code of conduct and Health and Safety procedures.

Full training will be provided to all new staff joining our team.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A fast learner who can pick up new skills quickly
  • A friendly, positive attitude with the ability to maintain speed without compromising standards.
  • Good time management and an eye for detail.
