About the Role
The Coordinator delivers effective and efficient coordination for the Government Services Group, actively collaborating and engaging with colleagues and stakeholders. The coordinator records and manages the flow of all official correspondence and ministerial work within Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, and between Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora and ministerial offices.
About the Team
Government Services plays a vital role at the heart of government engagement, coordinating the delivery of high volumes of official information responses, ministerial correspondence, parliamentary questions, and briefings. We pride ourselves on producing high-quality outputs at pace, ensuring Ministers and the public receive timely and accurate information.
You'll be part of a dynamic, responsive team that thrives under pressure, values collaboration, and works closely with leaders across the organisation. While the team is primarily based in Wellington, we're open to applicants based elsewhere in New Zealand who can work effectively and stay connected in a distributed environment.
About you
You're a detail-driven professional with strong technical skills in Microsoft Office and data handling. You bring public sector experience with knowledge of government processes, and you're adept at coordinating tasks and managing competing priorities. Organised and efficient under pressure, you also demonstrate cultural responsiveness and a commitment to equity.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, and the ability to work under pressure without compromising quality.
- Good judgement, decision making and problem resolution skills, and the ability to identify and escalate key risks appropriately.
- Advanced computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Dynamics, Word and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly around data.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and be able to manage under times of pressure.
- Ability to work as part of a team and on one's own when required.
