The Opportunity:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Core Occupational Therapist with a passion for acute care of the elderly and rehabilitation to join our Inpatient Assessment, Treatment & Rehabilitation (AT&R) service at Middlemore Hospital.
If you’re seeking a role that offers variety, new challenges, and the chance to work in a diverse, multicultural environment as part of an interdisciplinary team, this position is for you. In the AT&R service, you will play a vital role within the team, utilising your expertise to deliver occupational assessments and interventions that focus on meaningful occupations for older adult clients. This includes rehabilitation for individuals with conditions such as orthopaedic, neurological, and general medical or surgical needs.
Essential:
• NZ Registered Occupational Therapist with a current practising certificate
• Minimum 1 years Occupational Therapy experience in a physical health setting
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team
• Full current NZ driver's licence
Desired:
• Experience working in rehabilitation and acute care of the elderly
• Accessable accreditation in wheelchairs and seating
• Experience supervising students and junior staff
