Are you a seasoned Cyber Security Architect with a knack for navigating complex systems and delivering high-quality assurance outcomes? We’re currently looking for a Cyber Security Architect to join a government agency team in Wellington on a 6-month contract, working across a critical area of their technology operations.
About the Role:
This position sits within a specialist cybersecurity team and is responsible for providing assurance, advice, and architectural oversight to support the delivery of secure technology outcomes. You’ll be stepping into a backfill role that requires technical depth, a broad understanding of security principles, and the ability to work effectively across a multi-disciplinary team.
What You’ll Bring:
- A strong understanding of complex ICT systems and environments
- Proven experience conducting security risk assessments and audits
- Capability to assess and review solution design documentation
- Experience developing and executing control validation plans
- Familiarity with Certification & Accreditation processes and documentation
- Broad knowledge across security solutions and ICT security technologies
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to build trust and credibility quickly across varied stakeholder groups
- A proactive, practical mindset for solving security challenges in large organisations
Desirable Experience Includes:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft platforms (Azure, Power Platform)
- Experience with data warehouse environments
- Prior work within government or highly regulated sectors
