Job Description

Volpara Health is using technology to help families around the world avoid the devastating impact of breast cancer. To do that, they are turning vast volumes of medical data into insights supporting clinicians with smarter diagnostics and enabling research with powerful AI driven tools.

We’re looking for an ambitious Data Engineer who wants to take ownership of the data platform. This is a key role in there growing Data & Science team, your work will directly power the development of life-saving medical analytics, AI models, and product features. You’ll be a crucial part of their mission to deliver secure, de-identified data for AI while maintaining the highest standards of quality and privacy.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Design and improve pipelines that ingest clinical data into cloud environment
  • Build and manage Snowflake data warehouse and orchestration frameworks
  • Ensure security, compliance, and trust in handling large medical datasets
  • Develop scalable solutions for image processing, deidentification, and DICOM handling
  • Collaborate with ML engineers, analysts, and product teams to create data products
  • Research and implement new tools to improve data quality, efficiency, and insights
  • Contribute to an important mission: better risk models, better early detection, and ultimately, better health outcomes

What You Bring:

  • 2+ years of experience building cloud-based data pipelines / ETL
  • Strong SQL and Python (C# a plus)
  • Hands-on with tools like DBT, Dagster, Airflow, or Prefect is a must have
  • Passion for data quality, integrity, and purpose-driven work
  • Experience with Snowflake and Azure (AWS welcome too)
  • Understanding of medical data standards: DICOM, HL7, FHIR
  • Background in healthcare or life sciences preferred
  • Tertiary degree in computer science, engineering or similar
