Health New Zealand Bay of Plenty's Decision Support Team is on the lookout for experienced analysts who are passionate about delivering high-quality, timely advice in a fast-paced and meaningful environment.
These are permanent, full-time roles (38–40 hours per week) that offer the opportunity to shape the future of healthcare through data-driven decision making.
About the Team/Service/Location
As a valued member of the Decision Support Team, you'll do more than analyse data, you'll act as a trusted business partner to service leaders across Health New Zealand Bay of Plenty. Your role will be instrumental in supporting high-quality, equitable care for our communities by helping services make informed, operational and strategic decisions.
You'll be involved in many aspects of service delivery, from monitoring clinical, financial, and workforce performance to developing data models and trend analyses that track progress against key priorities. In addition to your analytical expertise, you'll support the development of robust business cases - evaluating options, presenting evidence-based recommendations, and helping teams navigate organisational processes such as capital asset replacements and strategic planning.
This role is a key support for major projects and service areas, contributing to better governance and more effective service delivery. It's a collaborative, high-impact position at the intersection of data, operational management, and strategy - based in one of Aotearoa New Zealand's most vibrant and naturally beautiful regions.

Health New Zealand Bay of Plenty is spread across a vast geographical area and centred across two hospitals based in Tauranga and Whakatāne. We serve a population of approximately 308,000 for the major population centres of Tauranga, Katikati, Te Puke, Whakatāne, Kawerau and Ōpōtiki. Bay of Plenty Hauora a Toi is one of the Bay of Plenty's largest employers with over 4500 staff.

About you
Skills required for this role:
- Tertiary qualification in business, finance, mathematics, economics or similar
- >2 years' experience in an analytical position, preferably within the health sector
- Ability to interpret financial and business data
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- High level of attention to detail and a solution focused mind-set
- Skills in Power BI incl DAX scripting, understanding of Power Query, and ability to create data models built from multiple data sets would be an advantage
