About the Role
We are seeking two motivated, skilled and committed full-time Dental House Officers.
Based in Whangarei, this position is in Te Tai Tokerau Health New Zealand's integrated oral health service. The successful applicant will be part of a team that provides dental care for hospital inpatients and outpatients of all ages including medically complex children, adolescents and adults. You will also provide treatment to children and adolescents that is beyond the scope of practice of dental therapists, treat low-income adults through our community clinics and assist in Oral Surgery clinics with our Consultant Oral Surgeon. You will be involved in regular Paediatric and Special Needs adult dental theatre lists and Oral Surgery theatre lists. Patients are seen at Whangarei Base Hospital, Regional hospitals, community clinics and mobile dental clinics throughout Te Tai Tokerau. There will also be some opportunity to observe/assist maxillofacial patients via clinics and theatres in Auckland. You will also observe in regular ENT clinics and theatre to help further your knowledge and training and observe our hospital orthodontist, visiting cleft team and Mobile Surgical Services theatre lists.
