Job Description

Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role

Full-time | Senior Leadership Role

Join us at a pivotal moment.

We are a nationally respected heritage Crown Entity working to protect, support and promote the places and stories that matter most. As we prepare for a significant period of change, we are seeking a thoughtful, experienced leader to guide and shape how we engage with our supporters, staff, visitors and wider community.

This role brings together strategic oversight of several core organisational functions, including:

  • Marketing, communications and brand
  • Social media and content
  • Supporter development and publications
  • Website and digital platforms
  • Design and identity
  • Project oversight (capital and innovation)
  • Organisational systems and business advice

At the centre of this portfolio is a major new programme of work: our Stakeholder Engagement Transformation Project. This organisation-wide initiative will bring new digital systems — including a Salesforce CRM and digital engagement tools — to the heart of how we work. It will replace disconnected legacy systems with a modern, integrated approach that:

  • Strengthens how we connect with our supporters and audiences
  • Improves our internal processes and reduces duplication
  • Equips our staff with the tools and data they need to do their best work
  • Supports future growth in visitation, revenue and reach

This is an opportunity to contribute to a lasting shift in how we operate, and to help build a more connected, future-focused heritage organisation.

About you

You are a strategic and pragmatic leader who brings experience in digital transformation, communications, stakeholder engagement and cross-organisational delivery. You are able to work collaboratively across teams, think long-term, and keep people at the centre of change.

We welcome candidates with experience across the cultural, advocacy, or not-for-profit sectors, or from aligned values-driven environments.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Applications close at 5pm on Sunday 20 July 2025
