The NZDF Force Health Organisation is responsible for the provision of health services to NZDF military personnel. The Force Health Organisation at Papakura Army Camp is looking for a civilian doctor to join the Defence Health Centre Papakura team, to provide primary healthcare, occupational and preventive medicine to our military personnel, with a significant focus on musculoskeletal injuries. Being a military environment, occupational health considerations are a part of every health decision making interaction.

Our doctors work as part of a multidisciplinary team including Nursing, Administration, Physiotherapy, Complex Care Coordination and military command. Confidence in navigating a rapidly changing environment and complex systems is essential. The desire to be a team player and make a difference is critical to the success of the applicant.
To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced, fellowship-qualified GP who enjoys working in a fast-paced, high-performance environment. The role would suit an individual with excellent inter-personal and communication skills who enjoys problem-solving and displays flexible thinking. Interest and/or experience in areas such as sports, travel, occupational and/or dive medicine is highly desirable.

Please Note:
To be eligible for the required level of government security clearance with the NZ Defence Force, you need to meet certain citizenship and residency criteria. Here's what you need to know:
Higher Level Security Clearance
- You must be a New Zealand citizen or you must hold New Zealand Permanent Residence or have a current New Zealand Residency Class Visa.
- At minimum, you must hold New Zealand Permanent Residence or have a current New Zealand Residency Class Visa, and you must be a citizen of and have lived in Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, United States of America or New Zealand continuously for the last ten (10) years.
- You must have a ten (10) year background history that can be verified and assessed appropriately by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) to determine if you are suitable for a security clearance at this level.
