The opportunity - Ara Whiwhi Mahi

Inland Revenue is part way through delivering a learning programme to support our people to support New Zealanders and Māori customers through increased understanding of te ao Māori, Te Tiriti o Waitangi - The Treaty of Waitangi and how to work better with and for Māori. We're looking for an experienced Change Manager to support and promote uptake of the learning programme.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver a change management strategy and roadmap to support uptake of the learning being delivered
  • Partner with internal Māori staff to ensure the change approach and all related engagement is approached with integrity
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for all change and engagement activities
  • Support the development and implementation of a communications plan and content
  • Monitor and report on engagement and effectiveness of the change approach
  • Success in this role requires comfort in a fast-paced environment, working as part of a small, high-performing team and in partnership with internal and external delivery partners

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • demonstrated experience designing and leading behavioural change initiatives in a large, diverse organisation
  • understanding of te tiriti and how to apply that in your work
  • proven strategic thinking ability and a natural curiosity
  • expert communication skills that influence and facilitate positive change
  • the ability to build positive working relationships at all levels, internally and externally
  • an ability to plan, negotiate and manage priorities.
