About the Role
As an Enrolled Nurse, you will be accountable and responsible for your own practice to provide the best outcomes concerning the health status of clients. You will provide a safe, effective client care using professional knowledge and skills. As an Enrolled Nurse, you will have access to seek appropriate guidance from a registered nurse or other registered health practitioner as required.
This role will provide ongoing monitoring and support to ensure care is provided in a culturally appropriate and sensitive manner, in accordance with the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you'll work in a supportive and welcoming environment, located in the Child Health Centre on the Whangarei Hospital campus.
This is a full time, permanent position working 40 hours per week between Mondays and Fridays.
About the Team/Service/Location
The Child Health Centre Clinic provides paediatric outpatient services for children from all over Northland. These include paediatrician, allied health and nurse led clinics. We are dedicated to addressing health inequities for Māori and creating a positive impact on the lives of children.

About you
As an Enrolled Nurse, you will need to have strong assessment and communication skills, with the ability to work in a team environment, staying flexible and adaptable, and can confidently prioritise tasks in a dynamic setting.
- Hold a NZ Practicing Certificate as an Enrolled Nurse
- Good computer skills
- Ability to develop innovative solutions to problems
- Love working with tamariki and their whanau
It is essential to have an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application to the health setting. Previous experience in a hospital or outpatient setting is preferred.
