About the Role
As an Enrolled Nurse, you will be accountable and responsible for your own practice to provide the best outcomes concerning the health status of clients. You will provide a safe, effective client care using professional knowledge and skills. As an Enrolled Nurse, you will practise under the direction and delegation of a registered nurse or nurse practitioner to deliver nursing care and health education across the life span to health consumers in the community, residential or hospital settings.
This role will see you contribute to nursing assessments; care planning, implementation and evaluation of care to patients/tūroro/tangata whai ora and family/whanau. Enrolled nurses deliver nursing care within their level of competence and scope of practice. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you'll work in a supportive and welcoming environment, located in the Surgical Outpatients Department on the Whangarei Hospital campus.
About the Team/Service/ Location
Our team of skilled orthopaedic specialists deliver high-quality outpatient care, focusing on the diagnosis, treatment and management of musculoskeletal conditions. The orthopaedic department provides expert care for a wide range of bone, joint and muscle issues, helping patients restore mobility and improve quality of life.

About you
As an Enrolled Nurse, you will need to have strong assessment and communication skills, with the ability to work in a team environment, staying flexible and adaptable, and can confidently prioritise tasks in a dynamic setting.
- Registration as a New Zealand Enrolled Nurse and holder of an annual practicing certificate
- Professional nursing portfolio aligned with Nursing Council of New Zealand competencies for Enrolled Nurses
- Good computer skills
- Ability to develop innovative solutions to problems
- Knowledge of quality improvement processes and principles, and nursing professional development issues
