Location: Petone, Wellington | Hours: Monday to Friday | Type: Full-time, Ongoing
Tradestaff Wellington is on the lookout for a skilled Heavy Fabricator to join our client’s busy workshop in Petone. If you have a solid background in heavy steel fabrication and love working with your hands in a workshop environment, this could be the perfect fit!
💼 About the Role: You’ll be based in a well-equipped Petone workshop, fabricating heavy structural steel for installation on-site. This is a full-time, Monday–Friday role offering stability and the chance to work on meaningful industrial and structural projects.

🔧 Key Responsibilities:
- Fabricate & design custom equipment based on technical drawings and specifications.
- Design and build jigs to support production runs.
- Install or remove specialized machinery/tools for project needs.
- Cut and join metal parts using MIG, arc, plasma, oxyacetylene, and more.
- Follow workshop standards with precision and attention to detail.
- Proven experience in metal fabrication and welding, especially with heavy structural steel.
- Proficiency in MIG, arc welding, plasma cutting, and using fabrication tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, perform accurate measurements, and calculate dimensions.
- A team player who’s also confident working independently.
- Relevant qualifications/certifications in welding and fabrication (preferred, not essential).
- Ongoing, full-time work – Monday to Friday
