Job Description
We’re seeking an experienced and hands-on Finance Manager for a 3-month contract based in Hamilton, supporting through financial leadership. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment and is comfortable managing operational and strategic finance tasks.
Reporting directly to the General Manager and overseeing a team of three, you’ll take ownership of month-end processes, reporting, payroll, and pricing analysis.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing end-to-end month-end processing, journals, reconciliations and workpapers
- Preparing monthly management reports with variance analysis and commentary
- Supporting Board reporting and attendance at Board meetings
- Providing costing and pricing advice for services and contracts
- Reviewing key business indicators such as resource optimization and staffing efficiency
- Managing payroll, debtors and creditors, and ensuring compliance with pay legislation
- Conducting ad hoc analysis, supporting business case development and special projects
- Leading finance-specific project work and enhancing internal controls and policies
We’re after a calm, confident, and highly organised individual who can lead a small team to deliver high-quality outputs for the business. You’ll have proven experience at a senior level, ideally as a Finance Manager or Senior Accountant, with a strong track record of delivering financial integrity in fast-paced environments. Your ability to problem-solve, think on your feet, and provide sound commercial insights will be essential, as will your strength as a communicator and influencer—someone who can confidently present to the Board and collaborate effectively across the business.
