Fitter/ Maintenance Worker

Tradestaff are looking for an experienced Fitter/Maintenance Worker to join our team for an immediate start!

Requirements:

• Relevant certification or vocational training in mechanical fitting or maintenance
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Ability to use hand and power tools effectively
• Knowledge of maintenance procedures and best practices
• Understanding of safety regulations and protocols
• Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labor
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance tasks on machinery, equipment, and facilities
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues to determine root causes
• Repair or replace faulty components using hand and power tools
• Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders and inspections
• Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to prioritize tasks and coordinate maintenance schedules
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment
• Assist with installation and setup of new equipment as needed
• Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains

Successful applicants must:

• Pass a pre-employment drug test
• Have 2 ready work references
• Have your own vehicle with a restricted or full license

You may also be required to submit a criminal history check with the Ministry of Justice.

Please note that our work is mainly industrial and therefore for Health and Safety reasons you do need a good command of English.
