Mō te tūnga | About the role

The Corporate Finance team is recruiting a Fixed Asset Accountant to lead the capital accounting processes, policies, technical compliance and customer support.

As our new Fixed Asset Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring the financial information for the Department's assets is accurate and accessible across the entire Department. The role ensures that quality financial information for fixed assets is maintained in accordance with the financial accounting standards that supports the business in making management decisions to deliver on their business strategy.

 

Mōu | About you

To be successful in this role you will have experience working in the Fixed Assets accounting space, with sound analytical and technical accounting skills. You will have the opportunity to work with the senior management across the organisation and enjoy building and maintaining strong working relationships with them.

A member of Chartered Accountants of Australia and New Zealand qualification or equivalent is preferred or relevant tertiary degree or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience and a commitment to ongoing professional development.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Proven experience providing fixed asset advice in large, complex organisations
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, NZ accounting standards, and the Public Finance Act
  • Ability to prepare accurate annual reports and financial documentation
  • Advanced Excel and SAP skills to support analysis and business insights
  • A proactive approach to process improvement and innovative reporting

 

Ngā painga | The benefits

The midpoint of the salary range is $106,789 and the full range (85%-120%) is $90,771 - $128,147. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
