About the role
We are looking for an experienced administrator who learns quickly, retains information and is accurate in their work. Naturally you will have excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with a variety of people and problems, often all at the same time.
This is an all-rounder role that will be involved in all aspects of admin in the department. Your primary duties will include providing excellent customer service in our reception area, and the booking of patients.
Daily tasks will include booking patients for appointments, phoning patients, responding to enquires, sending out appointment letters and changing patient appointments at short notice to suit patient and clinical need. This is a fast-paced environment, and the experienced applicant will thrive in this frontline area of the hospital, demonstrating your ability to prioritise, follow procedures and solve problems accordingly.

About you
You will have a friendly and welcoming nature and be comfortable interacting with patients both in person and on the phone. You will be the kind of person who is flexible, adaptable, and able to juggle multiple priorities whilst remaining calm under pressure. It goes without saying that you will be a team player and willing to help where needed.
Our ideal candidate will have:
- at least two years previous experience in a busy administration or customer service role
- excellent computer skills: proven experience in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook with the ability to learn other job specific programmes
- the ability to multitask, and work well under pressure
- a flexible approach with the ability to successfully prioritise your workload
- the ability to act with discretion, sensitivity, and integrity at all times.
