  • Full time role (1.0 FTE, 80 hours per fortnight)
  • Parental leave cover up to 14 months

About the Role

As a Medical Laboratory Scientist – Microbiology/Biochemistry, you will provide a high quality, innovative diagnostic laboratory service that meets the needs of our patients, consumers, and whānau. This role will have a large component of evening and midnight shifts to cover a 24/7 (Biochemistry/Microbiology) roster.

About Us

About you

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A current annual practising certificate and registration with the New Zealand Medical Sciences Council, or eligibility to register with the Council.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

The ideal candidate will also have:

  • 2-5 years of experience in a hospital-based laboratory setting.
  • Experience, knowledge, or qualification in microbiology.
  • Experience, knowledge, or qualification in molecular testing.
  • Experience, knowledge, or qualification in biochemistry.
