Mō te tūnga | About the role 

Central Police District covers an area that stretches from the North Taranaki Bight, across to Ruapehu, south to Otaki in the west and across to Tararua ranges in the east meaning we have staff and vehicle fleet encompassing a large and diverse geographic.

As the District Fleet and Equipment Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring the Districts vehicle fleet is effective, efficient and fully optimised to meet the needs of day to day and long-term policing strategy. You will also be responsible for ensuring all tactical gear, associated equipment and other assets are always available.

The District Fleet and Equipment Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the onboarding and decommissioning of District vehicles, ensuring our fleet is operational and deployed to the right places at the right time.  They will also ensure collaboration with stakeholders to manage asset operations, plan for equipment replacements, and optimise usage.

 

 

Key Accountabilities: 

  • Previous experience in managing or maintaining a large vehicle fleet (100+)
  • Previous experience in managing assets and equipment
  • Sound time management skills through online systems and databases
  • Skills and experience in preparing written reports, charts and tables to clearly articulate issues and trends
  • Have the ability to learn new systems and processes as well as developing and growing your own
  • Proven ability to work with others, assess a variety of information and reach an evidence-based decision

The successful applicant will have a sound knowledge of managing a large fleet and will have a sound knowledge of all things mechanical and technical with vehicles.

  • A current New Zealand Drivers Licence is essential.

Utu ā-tau | Salary

This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $83,266 and $91,353 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
