Job Description

We are currently recruiting an experienced Duty Manager on behalf of a leading hospitality venue specialising in high-end events and private functions as well as a la carte service. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing service or events and leading a team.

The Role

As Duty Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth running of shifts, maintaining service standards, and acting as the primary contact during events. You'll lead a front-of-house team, manage staff performance, and liaise with internal event teams to deliver outstanding customer experiences. Some responsibilities will include:
  • Manage customer feedback and resolve issues promptly
  • Conduct opening/closing procedures including cash handling
  • Support training and onboarding of new staff
  • Supervise and coordinate staff across daily operations and events
  • Ensure compliance with the Sale & Supply of Liquor Act

About You
We're looking for a confident, service-driven individual with a strong background in hospitality operations, ideally within a venue that hosts events or large-scale functions. To be successful you will need to have:
  • Previous experience as a Duty Manager or similar supervisory role
  • Proven ability to lead teams in a high-pressure environment
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility to work across evenings, weekends, and event-based rosters
  • Current Duty Managers Certificate
  • Unrestricted work rights in NZ - sponsorship is not available
