Description
About the company:
We specialise in delivering efficient and reliable earthworks and excavation services for construction sites. Our skilled team, armed with modern machinery, ensures that every job is completed to the highest standards, setting the stage for the next phase of construction. Whether tackling large-scale commercial projects or nurturing residential developments, we are dedicated to achieving outstanding results on time and within budget. Backed by a reputable brand with over 40 years of experience in Christchurch, we proudly serve a diverse customer base throughout New Zealand, embodying quality and excellence in every endeavour.
About the role:
As a Formworker, you will report directly to your site leaders, and you’ll play a key part in constructing and dismantling the temporary moulds that shape concrete structures. You’ll interpret blueprints and plans, accurately measure, cut, and shape wood or metal materials, and assemble formwork to support a wide range of concrete designs. Your role ensures the structural integrity of each build, often including the placement of steel reinforcement bars (rebar). Once the concrete sets, you’ll carefully dismantle the formwork without damaging the finished product. You’ll apply release agents, follow safety regulations, and collaborate with other trades on-site. Problem-solving and adaptability are essential, as is a strong focus on quality and precision in every task. This is a hands-on role requiring physical fitness, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to safe, efficient construction practices.
What’s required:
- Proven experience in formwork carpentry or a similar construction role
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Skilled in measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling wood or metal materials
- Knowledge of placing reinforcement (rebar) and applying release agents
- Strong understanding of site safety protocols and procedures
- Physically fit, with good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
If you have a current Site Safe card, this will be an advantage.
