Come join the fabulous Oranga Tamariki EPMO in Wellington for a year to help improve our programme and project capability and performance.

You'll be responsible for the provision of both change delivery advice and fit for purpose assurance over all our investment activities.

Mō te tūnga | About the role

The EPMO ensures the delivery of high-quality business change enabling better outcomes for tamariki, rangatahi and whānau. 

The Frameworks and Assurance role:

  • Looks after the delivery frameworks, tools and templates
  • Guides, trains, coaches and mentors the project community
  • Provides independent advice and assurance on the health and progress of projects.
  • Establishes the Assurance Framework, and conducts and commissions assurance reviews
  • Ensures that the frameworks meet the needs and are used by senior management and project delivery practitioners.

This role is based in our Wellington office. Due to the operational requirements and dynamic nature of the role, it will be beneficial for you to have the close support of the team around you. Candidates for this role are required to already be based in Wellington or be willing to relocate to Wellington for this opportunity.

 

Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring

Key requirements of the role include: 

  • EPMO experience leading development of both delivery and assurance frameworks, and supporting these via coaching, advice and monitoring of their adoption.
  • Government experience highly desirable.
  • Improving the current project delivery frameworks, tools, and templates.
  • Developing and implementing a new programme delivery framework.
  • Supporting assurance plans to be put in place, completing internal health checks and procuring and supporting external assurance activities
  • Lifting the quality of risk management across the investment portfolio
  • Understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural practices in particular; knowledge of tikanga Māori, and Pacific peoples' culture
