About the Role

Due to consistently high demand for our outpatient and endoscopy services, we are seeking passionate and dynamic Gastroenterologist to fill fixed-term and permanent full-time positions, with the flexibility of 0.8 FTE part-time roles.

The post will be based at Te Toka Tumai Auckland Hospital – Grafton and Greenlane Clinical Centre.

We are looking for a qualified doctor with strong skills in general gastroenterology and endoscopy, with the potential for ERCP sessions.

About the Service

Gastroenterology at Te Toka Tumai Auckland provides secondary care for both inpatients and outpatients including diagnosis of a variety of upper and lower gastrointestinal conditions, therapeutic and advanced endoscopy procedures, management of IBD, ERCP and Spyglass

Te Toka Tumai, Auckland is one of the largest public healthcare providers in New Zealand with four specialist teaching hospitals: Auckland City Hospital, Greenlane Clinical Centre, National Women's Health and Starship Children's Health.

About you

As the ideal candidate, you will be registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand. Please note, you will be required to provide source verification of your qualifications for your registration application. What you require for this role:

  • FRACP or equivalent and vocational registration in New Zealand
  • Specialist accreditation in endoscopy recognised by the NZ Gastroenterology Society
  • Trained in General Internal Medicine
  • Ability to function as an autonomous consultant in a teaching hospital
  • ERCP and EUS experience is highly desirable.
