About the Role
Join our dynamic team at Health New Zealand in New Plymouth! We are currently looking for a skilled General Medical Imaging Technologist to join our friendly and supportive radiology department at Taranaki Base Hospital. As part of our team, you will play a vital role in promoting the health, well-being, and independence of our community. This position involves working in our general department and participating in our on-call roster, which includes weekends, shifts, and call duties. You should be confident working autonomously and possess the ability to make sound clinical decisions, even in high-pressure situations.

About the Team/Service/ Location
We are excited to announce that our new building is set to be completed in 2026 and we will be moving in with state of the art facilities. Our facilities in New Plymouth will include advanced imaging technologies such as general x-ray, CT, ultrasound, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Interventional radiography, fluoroscopy and more. With satellite sites in Hawera, Stratford, and Waitara, you will have the chance to work alongside a team of around 60 staff members, supported by experienced Radiologists.

About you
To be successful in this role you will be required to have/be: -
- NZ registration and a current annual practising certificate
- Excellent technical skills and knowledge
- Well-developed communication, critical thinking skills and a commitment to family centred care
- Capable of working independently and within a small team
- A strong commitment to quality healthcare
- Versatile and able to adapt to a constantly changing environment
- Able to work well within a close team and be willing to take part in training students.
