Te Tari Taiwhenua Department of Internal Affairs ("DIA") is central to delivery of New Zealand's public services. We provide a broad range of essential services for New Zealanders, from digitising government services to supporting communities, regulatory frameworks, and identity management.
We are seeking a visionary and dynamic leader who will play a key system leader role in ensuring that New Zealand's public service can effectively leverage digital technologies to improve service delivery and meet the needs of citizens.
Reporting directly to the Deputy Secretary, Digital Services, the General Manager, All-of-Government Services Delivery is responsible for strategic direction, delivery, and procurement of digital and ICT services, systems and products, and working with the supplier market to deliver modern digital procurement models for digital and ICT.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing strategic leadership to the AoG Services Delivery Group, and as a member of the Digital Services leadership team, holding joint accountability for system leadership work on digitising government services.
- Leading system-wide efforts in ICT infrastructure and service consolidation, while championing the development and adoption of common capabilities and digital procurement models.
- Delivery of a comprehensive suite of digital products and services, and working to improve the utilisation of digital technologies by the public sector
- Managing and enhancing partnerships with the supplier community to improve cost-effective and sustainable ICT service delivery.
- Ensuring operational excellence, including financial management, risk mitigation, and compliance with DIA's corporate policies.
We are looking for a senior leader with experience managing complex, service-delivery-focused businesses. You should have proven success in leading change and establishing new services and influencing key stakeholders across the public sector. Your leadership and ability to foster collaboration will be critical.
Key skills and experience:
- A strong track record in leading complex service delivery operations and managing large-scale change in both public and private sectors.
- Expertise in ICT procurement, vendor management, and digital service delivery at the enterprise level.
- Extensive experience in the management of complex supply chains and the management of partnerships and complex supply relationships.
- Proven success in building and leading high-performing teams in large, complex organisations.
- A deep understanding of the digital landscape and its application in the public sector.
