About the Role
The Group Manager Digital Investment provides strategic leadership and people management to shape and oversee Health New Zealand's digital investment approach. This role is responsible for leading investment planning, prioritisation, and portfolio performance management to ensure digital initiatives deliver maximum value, long-term sustainability, and alignment with organisational priorities. With a strong focus on financial oversight, the position works closely with Digital Services leadership, finance teams, central government agencies, and key stakeholders to secure funding, support budget processes, and strengthen investment confidence. The role plays a critical part in driving digital transformation across Health New Zealand.
About the Team/Service/ Location
The Group Manager Digital Investment is part of the Digital Health Strategy & Design team—a collaborative, forward-thinking group focused on stakeholder engagement and strategic investment. The team works closely with Regional Digital Directors, Clinical Informatics Directors, and other key partners to develop digital service roadmaps and adaptable solution designs. By leveraging specialist expertise and strong partnerships, the team ensures investment decisions deliver outcomes that are affordable, sustainable, and equitable across Health New Zealand.
About you
As an experienced senior leader in investment, you will utilise your experience of working in large and complex organistions, and leading high performing teams in this role. You will also have the following skills and experiences that will help you to succeed in the position:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior leadership role, with at least 5 years specifically in investment management, capital portfolio management or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing investment strategies.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large and complex investment portfolios.
- Experience in investment appraisal, business case development, and financial manage
