The Water Services Authority - Taumata Arowai is the water services regulator for Aotearoa New Zealand. It is a Crown entity governed by a Minister-appointed Board and advised on Māori interests and knowledge by Te Puna, a statutory Māori Advisory Group. Our responsibilities are to protect and promote drinking water safety and related public health outcomes - we regulate drinking water suppliers on behalf of the public. We also have an oversight role in relation to the environmental performance of drinking water, wastewater and stormwater networks.

Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role
As our newly established Guidance Design Hub manager you'll be charged with forming and leading a team of creative and innovative professionals. The Guidance Design Hub Team will work with our technical specialists, and community suppliers, to develop a range of accessible, user-friendly and technically accurate content across a variety of media to promote safe drinking water.
As the people leader, you'll manage and mentor your team to foster a culture of high performance while managing the team work plan providing oversight to the collateral created. You'll also work closely with our subject matter experts to ensure the content is aligned, and promotes, the work of our technical and operational teams.

Ko koe tēnei | About you
We are looking for someone who
- Has a relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience (10+ years)
- Can grow, lead and maintain a team of design specialists
- Has in-depth experience in managing a broad range of social science research and design methods
- Has a knowledge of the water sector and environment regulations
- Able to navigate, and work, in ambiguity
- Excellent relationship and stakeholder management skills to work with a variety of stakeholders
