About the Role

We have a permanent opportunity for a dedicated Health Care Assistant to join our Internal Nursing Resource Team (NRT) at Whakatāne Hospital, working 0.7 FTE (28 hours per week) across a rotating roster or morning, afternoon, night, and weekend shifts.

This is a varied, hospital-wide role where your contribution truly matters.  You will proved hands-on support to nursing staff, assist with personal care, mobility, patient observation, and help maintain a safe, calm environment for those receiving care.  Every day will look a little different – and that is what makes it rewarding.

About the Team/Service/ Location

The Nursing Resource Team is a highly responsive and collaborative group that provides essential support across multiple hospital departments.  Based in the stunning Bay of Plenty, you will work with experienced professionals in a collaborative environment that encourages continuous learning and development.  No two days are the same, making this a fantastic opportunity for HCAs who thrive in a fast-paced setting.

About you

You are a compassionate and reliable Health Care Assistant with a strong commitment to patient care.  Your ability to adapt quickly, work within a multidisciplinary team, and provide excellent support to nursing staff will make you an invaluable member of our team.  

What you will bring:

  • Certificate in Health Care Assistance Level 4 (or equivalent qualification).
  • Experience working as an HCA preferably in a healthcare or related setting.
  • Ability to work a rotating roster across all shifts, including weekends and nights.
