About the Role
The Head of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology plays a vital role, working collaboratively with the team to provide effective, high-quality leadership across all areas of service delivery. As the Head of Department, you will work in partnership with service cluster leaders to provide support, leadership and management of medical staff working within the ORL Service across the District. You will be a Senior Medical Officer, with relevant experience in ORL services.
This role provides direct leadership, coaching and support to colleagues within the service, and participates in recruitment, professional reviews, and practice development. There is a pressing need to ensure that the development of ORL services both align with organisational goals and values and meets the needs of a diverse and rapidly growing population across the Bay of Plenty.

About you
Critical requirements:
- Vocational registration FRANZCG or equivalent
As a respected Otorhinolaryngology specialist with a minimum of 5 years experience , you will have proven attributes of a team player and be passionate about the wellbeing of our people and patients. You will be able to demonstrate your leadership qualities when working alongside and supporting your colleagues.
This role is about supporting and empowering individuals to develop their skills and overseeing service delivery, to achieve organisational outcomes within budgeted resources.
