You will lead a dedicated Health and Safety team and oversee systems that meet legal, moral and operational obligations - ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with broader corporate strategy.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the development and execution of the Health and Safety Strategy and Annual Plans
- Maintain and evolve a fit-for-purpose Safety Management System (SMS)
- Drive a proactive safety culture through worker engagement and leadership coaching
- Provide expert advice to senior leaders and ensure legislative compliance
- Oversee audits, investigations, emergency management and contractor systems
- Manage performance indicators and risk controls in a complex, high-consequence environment
- A senior Health and Safety leader with a minimum of 7 years in safety-sensitive industries (manufacturing, heavy industry, etc.)
- A strategic thinker who can navigate executive-level planning while staying grounded in frontline realities
- Strong working knowledge of NZ Health and Safety legislation, including experience with ACC AEP and Major Hazard Facility operations (highly preferred)
- Proven ability to influence, lead cultural change and engage stakeholders across all levels
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Health and Safety, with additional certifications in auditing and investigation
