About the role
Reporting to the Christchurch based Health and Safety Manager, this role supports the Auckland production site, where around 120 staff work across 2 shifts. Working Monday to Thursday, your hours can be flexible, to fit with you and also with the business’ operating hours.
With a key focus on safety awareness, you’ll deliver and implement new safety initiatives, while maintaining and improving on existing standards. Visibility and communication are important, so you’ll spend time on the production floor building those relationships that are important to the success of this role.

Duties will include
- Assisting the site in job safety analysis, permit to work and contractor management
- Injury management and return to work programs
- Coordinating inductions
- Data entry and analysis
- Guiding and mentoring Health and Safety Committee
- Tertiary qualification or current study toward a Diploma in Health and Safety
- Experience with AEP and third-party claim providers is beneficial
- Previous experience in a high-risk manufacturing environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent administration skills and experience with safety management systems
- Membership of NZISM is encouraged
