About the company
Our client is part of a leading organisation in the building products sector with a major project underway in Taupo. This new venture champions sustainability, innovation and low-carbon construction.
  
About the role
You’ll be a key part of the health and safety team working predominantly on site at a state-of-the-art plant currently under construction. The focus is on promoting safety, not policing it. You’ll work alongside contractors and employees - building relationships, embedding safe practices and supporting process safety systems like Permit to Work and Lock Out/Tag Out. Initially, this is a 12-month fixed term contract.
  
Duties
  • Deliver and support Permit to Work, LOTO and site safety systems
  • Conduct audits, inspections and guide safe work practices
  • Coach teams, run inductions and promote a safety-first mindset
  • Facilitate incident investigations and emergency response training
  
Skills and experience
  • NZ Certificate in Workplace Health and Safety (Level 4) or equivalent
  • NZISM Practitioner Accreditation (or working towards)
  • Solid experience with LOTO and Permit to Work systems
  • Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and build cross-site relationships
