About the role
As Health and Safety Business Partner, you will provide guidance, coaching, and leadership to managers and frontline teams across multiple sites. The role blends strategy with hands-on delivery, implementing organisational safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, and driving continuous improvement. A key focus is embedding safe systems, building capability, and strengthening culture across operations.
Duties
Reporting to the Head of Health and Safety, you will take ownership of key health and safety initiatives while working closely with operational leaders to strengthen culture and performance. You will bring confidence in influencing decision-making and enjoy engaging with diverse stakeholders to ensure safe and sustainable outcomes.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive and engaging professional who brings strong technical expertise alongside excellent interpersonal skills. You will be confident in applying and implementing organisational strategies, ensuring initiatives are delivered effectively, and influencing outcomes through collaboration and coaching.

- Partner with managers and teams to embed safety leadership expectations
- Implement the Critical Risk Management framework across sites
- Coach and empower Health and Safety Representatives
- Carry out inspections, audits, and assurance reporting
- Integrate and embed Health and Safety into operational practices
- Support effective contractor management
The ideal candidate will be a proactive and engaging professional who brings strong technical expertise alongside excellent interpersonal skills. You will be confident in applying and implementing organisational strategies, ensuring initiatives are delivered effectively, and influencing outcomes through collaboration and coaching.
- Health and safety qualification and professional membership (e.g. NZISM or HASANZ)
- Experience in a business partner or advisory role within complex environments
- Strong knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015
- Proven success with risk management frameworks and assurance activities
- Excellent facilitation and engagement skills with diverse workforces
