Our client is looking for experienced Health and Safety Contractor/ Practitioner to work at various locations in New Zealand.
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced H&S Contractor to join our Global Health and Safety team on a 3-month contract basis. The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening our Worker Engagement, Participation, and Representation (WEPR) approach across the organisation.
This role is ideal for someone with proven experience in worker engagement, strong stakeholder management skills (including union engagement), and the ability to implement practical and strategic H&S frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:

Review and redesign the Health and Safety Representative (HSR) governance structure

Support the consultation, review, and finalisation of an updated worker participation agreement in collaboration with union representatives

Review all workgroups to ensure compliance with WEPR requirements

Assess and recommend improvements to Committee meeting structures and tools

Establish new H&S committees where needed (e.g., corporate office locations)
Additional Scope :

Develop an HSR capability and career pathway framework

Create an HSR recognition program

Design an HSR onboarding programme

Develop a digital platform for reporting and information sharing among HSRs
About You:

Proven experience as an H&S Practitioner, preferably in a global or multi-site environment
- Flexibility to travel different sites in NZ

Demonstrated experience in worker participation, engagement, and representation

Strong understanding of HSR frameworks, governance, and regulatory compliance

Experience working collaboratively with unions and diverse stakeholder groups

Excellent communication, consultation, and project delivery skills

Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
