About the Role

Are you passionate about making a difference in patient care? Join our dynamic team as a Health Care Assistant (HCA), where you'll provide essential support to our patients and healthcare professionals. The purpose of this role is to assist the Registered Nurses in patient care, hygiene cares, and manual handling and mobilisation of patients.

The HCA works under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. Tasks include restocking, cleaning, some admin and receptionist tasks.

About you

•The suitable applicant will have recent experience as a Health Care Assistant, ideally within the NZ public hospital system and preferably in a high-acuity or critical care environment such as ICU.
•A Level 3 Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (or equivalent) is preferred, or a commitment to enrol in and complete this qualification is required.
•You will have a good understanding of manual handling equipment and safe patient handling practices, along with a strong awareness of infection prevention and control measures.
•You must demonstrate maturity, professionalism, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Excellent communication skills, the ability to follow instructions, and strong teamwork are essential.
•Reliability, integrity, and a respectful, compassionate approach to patient care are key to being successful in this role.
