About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity available to join the Te Manawa Taki as the Health Protection Operations Team Lead. This role will provide effective leadership and operational management for the administration and support staff within the Compliance and Health Protection team.
You will be responsible for leading, directing and oversight of the team. Ensure the efficient, effective, and quality management of information, process, and systems. You will also provide day-to-day effective operations management to enable the realisation of Pae Ora.
About the Team/Service/ Location
The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries focusing to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.
About you
You will bring previous experience in leading a team, developing and implementing operational plans, framework, and protocols to support the NPHS regional strategic direction and service delivery. You are experienced engaging with key stakeholders to ensure the voice of those with greatest need is well represented.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in management, business, health, or other relevant discipline.
- Experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action.
- Demonstrated operational management experience of at least 3 years.
- Demonstrable understanding of, and commitment to, the specific relationship under Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and Health NZ's role in improving outcomes for iwi and Māori communities.
- Demonstrable understanding & experience working in partnership with Pacific communities
- Clean NZ Driver Licence
- Willing to travel across the region
