- 0.5FTE (20 hours a week) and 0.6 FTE (24 hours a week)
- Shifts - Monday to Sunday. Morning, Afternoon and Nights

About the Role
A Healthcare Assistant is an integral part of our team and we are looking for
candidates who have excellent problem solving skills, a positive attitude and
the ability to work as a team player. You will enjoy being busy and don't mind
that the role can be at times be physically demanding. You will work with a
diverse multi-disciplinary team and be flexible to work all shifts - Morning,
Afternoon and Nights.
The role of a Healthcare Assistant varies from day to day but you will be there to make sure that the unit is running smoothly and to its highest potential. This could mean performing a variety of tasks such as:
- Patient care including personal care
- Patient watch
- Cleaning and tidying the ward/house keeping
- Assisting the nursing team with a variety of tasks on the ward.
- Ensuring that patients
have the best experience possible.
Salary starting from $60,100 to $70,358 per annum. Based on the NZNO Nursing and Midwifery collective agreement.
About the Service
Medical Assessment (MA) based at Waipapa Hospital is a 40 bed unit caring for a wide variety of acutely unwell patients. We want to see our staff grow so we encourage people with professional development opportunities and support people new to MA to thrive in a fast paced environment.

- Ability to work all shifts - Morning, Afternoon and Nights
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A high attention to detail and the ability to relate to patients and their families.
- A good use of initiative and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time management skills and a willingness to learn.
