About the Role
We are looking for a Healthcare Assistant to assist nursing
and medical staff with patient care whilst maintaining a safe and clean work
environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone wanting to work
in Women - s Health and to help provide a service supporting women.
Healthcare Assistants are an integral part of our team and
we are looking for candidates who have excellent communication skills, a
positive attitude and the ability to use their initiative. This is a great
opportunity to give back to your community and utilise your caring
skills/values - manaaki (care) and awhina (help)
The role of a Healthcare Assistant varies from day to day. You will be there to make sure that the service is running smoothly and to its highest potential while assisting the nursing team with a variety of tasks on the ward which could include:
- Keeping the environment tidy and organised
- Ordering and restocking of supplies
- Communicating with and supporting patients
- Ensuring patient safety and that patients have the best experience possible
- Helping out the three
Gynaecology Outpatients Services which have the same team/staff that also
rotate around the units
You will enjoy being busy and don't mind that the role can be at times be physically demanding.

About the Service
We have 3x departments in our Gynaecology Outpatients
Service, Gynaecology Procedure Unit, Colposcopy and Hysteroscopy Unit and
Gynaecology Outpatient Service. Our services provide care to over 10,000 women
a year. We see patients referred from GP practices, other specialists and the
National Cervical Screening Programme. We see patients for a range of reasons
including pre/post gynaecology operations, fertility, urogynaecology, gynae
oncology, pelvic pain, miscarriage management, difficult contraception insertions,
terminations, biopsies, colposcopy and hysteroscopy.
About you
You will enjoy working as part of a multidisciplinary team,
have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, a high level of
confidentiality, and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to engage well
- Effective problem solving and decision making skills
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a multidisciplinary team
- Initiative and a proactive approach to work
- Excellent interpersonal skills and team work
- Strong computer skills and administration experience would be an advantage
- Ideally experience as a Healthcare Assistant or similar
