· House Officer Medical and Surgical Reliever, Permanent Fulltime
· 50-54.9 hours per week
· We are seeking to appoint a House Officer Reliever from April 2025
· This relief position covers both Medical and Surgical and includes ED Admitter shifts

About the Role
Clinical responsibilities:
- Responsible to their Consultant for the day-to-day clinical management of the team’s patients. After hours the RMO is responsible to the on-call Consultant for all the patients in the secondary obstetrics and gynaecology service.
- Required to attend to any medical emergency when on call.
- Required to attend Consultant ward rounds when performed within ordinary hours.
- Attendance at outpatient clinics as required by the Consultant.
- Participate in theatre sessions as required by the Consultant or diploma requirements.
- The Emergency Department Admitter shifts for this role is responsible for the admission and clerking of acute admissions for the Department of Medicine.
About the Team/Service/ Location
There are 8 House Officers in our team of relievers that cover roster gaps over our Medical and Surgical specialties.

About you
- You have at least 1 year ‘s experience in a New Zealand hospital or comparable healthcare system
- You will be registered or be eligible for general or provisional registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
- You are looking to be part of a fun, supportive team with a strong community focus
