HR Business Partner
Location: Waikato

We’re looking for a forward-thinking HR Business Partner to join a values-led organisation in the Waikato. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping people initiatives during a time of strategic and operational change.
About the Role:
As HR Business Partner, you’ll work closely with senior leaders to deliver practical, people-focused solutions that enable organisational success. With transformation underway, this role will have a strong focus on change management, culture uplift, and leadership development.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partnering with leaders to support workforce planning, structure changes, and team development
- Leading or supporting change initiatives including restructures, role redesigns, and engagement planning
- Providing guidance across performance management, employee relations, and employment legislation
- Supporting the implementation of HR projects, frameworks, and policies
- Acting as a trusted advisor on all things people and culture
About You:
You’ll be a confident and credible HR professional who is calm under pressure and proactive in approach. You’ll bring a strong understanding of change management and a genuine passion for helping leaders bring their people along the journey.
We’re looking for:
- Proven experience in an HR Business Partner or senior generalist HR role
- Experience within local government environment
- Strong understanding of NZ employment law and HR best practice
- Experience leading or supporting change or transformation programmes
- Excellent interpersonal skills – able to influence, support and coach
- The ability to work strategically while delivering day-to-day support
