Transpower has a dual role as New Zealand's owner and system operator of the National Grid. As the transmission network asset owner, we keep the energy flowing - transporting high voltage electricity from where it is generated to cities, towns, and some major industrial users nationwide. As System Operator, we operate the electricity market and power system 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

About the opportunity

The People team at Transpower are responsible for enabling leaders and managers to be outstanding in their role leading the organisation, managing people, and delivering outcomes.

The People Business Partnering team works closely with managers and employees across the organisation and provides a shared services function for the broader People team.  As one of two HR Coordinators in this role you'll work together to provide comprehensive administrative, coordination and process support for both recruitment and human resources. Your role is integral to recruitment candidate experience, onboarding and the smooth and efficient execution of HR processes and services that contribute to the overall success of the organisation.

You'll enjoy an exciting and mentally stimulating environment, with lots of variety, and collaborate broadly with employees, managers, the wider HR team and job applicants to address enquiries and facilitate processes in an accurate and timely manner whilst upholding confidentiality and HR best practice. 

What will you bring?

You'll have a tertiary qualification e.g. psychology, law, sociology, commerce or a related field and professional, clear, and concise verbal and written communication.

Experience in HR coordination, recruitment administration or in a role which supports multiple stakeholders and critical processes and where attention to detail is critical, will be coupled with curiosity and the desire to develop your career in a Human Resources domain.

Your CV and cover letter will clearly demonstrate:

  • Excellent ability to operate effectively at pace with a high work output and accuracy and attention to detail (ideally, you'll have some understanding of HR/recruitment processes, legislation, and privacy)
  • Demonstrated ability to use and learn IT systems (e.g. Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Snaphire or other applicant tracking and/or payroll systems)
  • Proven ability to follow and enforce process and policy, whilst demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to meet changing business needs
  • Highly effective and proactive planning, organizing and time management skills
  • Well-developed people skills - ideally involving engagement and expectation management of both internal and external stakeholders
