Job Description
If you’re ready to have a real voice at the table and make a visible impact in a dynamic, hands-on environment, this HRBP role is for you. Our client is a diverse, forward-thinking business on an exciting journey to transform their People & Culture function into a trusted, strategic partner. We’re looking for a strong HRBP to help complete their powerhouse HR team!
The role
You’ll partner with a portfolio of around 600 employees across New Zealand, supported by a capable (and keen-to-learn) HR Coordinator you’ll mentor and develop. Expect variety — from ER and people leadership coaching to various projects. You’ll be in the thick of the action:
- Grow your coordinator’s skills, review their work, and help them develop into a strong HR professional.
- Be the “go-to” for managers, partnering with them to solve problems, navigate challenges, and deliver great outcomes for their people.
- Handle day-to-day ER issues with confidence and get valuable exposure to union environments and collective bargaining in a low-risk setting.
- Contribute to significant projects involving payroll, acquisitions and new learning systems and tools.
- Be a key driver in strengthening HR’s credibility and embedding a trusted, people-focused model across the organisation.
What we’re looking for
You’re a seasoned, confident HR professional with the resilience and adaptability to thrive in ambiguity. Equipped with a strong ER toolkit, you’re just as comfortable managing a PG process as you are facilitating a workshop with leaders. Ideally bringing 7+ years’ experience in fast-paced sectors such as construction, FMCG, or utilities, you’re a passionate practitioner who can clearly demonstrate the value of HR and build strong partnerships with leaders to help them achieve their goals.
The offer
- Salary up to $155k + birthday leave, life & critical illness cover, KiwiSaver, free parking.
- Up to 2 days WFH (midweek)
- Flexibility for school pick-ups/drop-offs and life’s other commitments
- Based in Mt Wellington
