The role
If you are looking for a role where you can lead a team responsible for the development of a system from design through to implementation and also provide hands-on technical work, then this is the role for you!
We are seeking an Infrastructure Lead who is passionate about leading a team in the implementation of security in depth practices and researching innovative approaches to solving interesting technical challenges. You will also play a critical role in using your technical experience to deliver projects across a number of domains.
This role will see you lead the development and maintenance of infrastructure capabilities in support of GCSB's activities. Your people leadership skills will play a key part to your success in this role to ensure the technical health of the unit.
Key responsibilities
While the role is extremely varied, some of the key duties include:
- Leading the development, implementation and support of infrastructure across a range of capabilities and technologies;
- Working in a role across typical technological boundaries to implement new capabilities in support of GCSB operational activities; and
- Providing technical leadership and direction to a team of engineers working to develop and implement capabilities that enable the conduct of operations at the heart of the New Zealand Intelligence Community.

Appointing range: $142,093 - $151,566.
Before you apply
Working within our unique environment means we have to ensure you're eligible for employment.
You must:
- Have been a New Zealand Citizen for at least 10 years
OR
Hold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and ideally have been a citizen of the UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years
- Be eligible to obtain a Top Secret Special (TSS) security clearance
- Ordinarily, this means you'll have a 15 year checkable background in countries NZSIS Vetting can make meaningful and reliable checks.
