Are you passionate about creating impactful learning experiences? Our People and Culture team (P&C) is on the hunt for a talented Instructional Designer to join our Wellington Office. In this 18-month fixed term role, you'll report to the Capability and Organisational Development Lead and play a pivotal role in crafting and delivering top-notch instructional materials. Your work will ensure an exceptional learner experience across the Commission.
Salary band is $80,707 - $94,948
Mōhou ake | About you
You are a creative and detail-oriented professional with a strong background in instructional design and learning management systems. You have excellent communication and collaboration skills, and deliver innovative learning solutions.
- Collaborate with the wider P&C team and key stakeholders to conduct learner needs analysis and develop a learning delivery plan.
- Apply best practices in instructional design, including ADDIE and Agile methodologies, to create positive, learner-centred experiences.
- Liaise with the Business Enablement training team to ensure consistency in the design of Commission learning and training materials.
- Utilize various instructional strategies and technologies to meet diverse learner needs.
- Design and develop high-quality instructional materials, including e-learning courses, assessments, and face-to-face workshops for various audiences.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure content accuracy and relevance.
- Develop meaningful assessment tools to measure the success and effectiveness of training and learning experiences.
- Provide system administration support for the Totara Learning Management System (Tupu), including course setup, user management, and reporting functionalities.
- Monitor and analyze learner engagement and performance data to continuously improve course offerings.
- Create standardized course templates within Totara to ensure consistency in design and user experience across all e-learning modules.
- Utilize Totara's reporting features to create dashboards that track learner progress and engagement, providing insights for course improvement and training completion.
- Contribute to team effectiveness by providing suggestions, learning feedback, and support to others.
- Act as an ambassador for the culture and values of the Commission by demonstrating them in all interactions with employees and stakeholders.
Ko ngā mea ka hiahiatia e koe kia angitū | What you'll need to succeed
- High level of creativity and attention to detail.
- High level of computer literacy, including competence in the Microsoft Office suite, use of technology, and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Skilled in utilising video, animation, Adobe Creative suite, and preferably using Totara systems.
- Experience writing content and developing e-learning courses in Articulate Storyline 360
- Well-developed research and analytical skills, particularly in an operational context.
- Knowledge and experience in adult learning and the application of best practice learning and development methodologies.
- Experience creating engaging and effective learning and training in different modes including face-to-face workshops, e-learning, systems simulations, video etc.
- Ability to translate strategy into operational delivery.
