Job Description
About the organisation:
Backed by 60 years’ experience, CHT Care Homes is an inclusive, values-driven, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to taking great care of older people, while supporting their employees to do their best work. CHT’s network of 21 care homes providing rest home, hospital, dementia and specialist dementia levels of care are grounded in living their values of care, compassion, comfort, connectedness and companionship each and every day. They offer interesting and rewarding work that improves the lives of older people, and in turn are dedicated to creating a rewarding employment experience where the vital role each of their employees plays is recognised.
About the role:
We’re looking for a thoughtful and creative Internal Communications Lead to help shape and strengthen how CHT connect with their teams, residents and families across their 21 care homes.
As the organisation has grown and matured, the need for clear, engaging, and consistent internal communication has grown. A newly created position, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting the Senior Management Group, bringing coherence to internal messaging, and ensuring CHT’s values shine through in every interaction — from employee weekly roundups and resident newsletters to key initiatives and training programmes.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop and lead internal communications that engage and inform staff across all care homes, as well as residents and their families.
- Support the CEO and Senior Management Group in delivering consistent, values-based communication.
- Work closely with the external marcomms partner to ensure brand consistency and support broader marketing efforts.
- Help bring events, milestones, and stories to life through compelling content — no more missed photo ops!
- Offer creative and practical support to the wider organisation.
About You:
- Experienced in internal communications, with a background in marketing, journalism or a related field.
- A strong communicator who is values-driven, empathetic, and able to connect with diverse audiences.
- Confident working independently, with the judgement to know when to step in and add value.
- Curious, detail-focused and creative — with the resilience to bring others along on the journey.
- Comfortable operating with a corporate lens in a charity setting, with an understanding of multiple stakeholders.
This isn’t a sales or business development role — it’s about building community, connection and clarity across the organisation. If you care deeply about people, communication, and purpose, and want to help future-proof CHT’s internal communications approach, we’d love to hear from you.
