Job Description
An exciting opportunity is available for a highly skilled and experienced Joinery Production Manager to lead the prefabrication and transportable division of a well-established manufacturer in the engineered wood products sector.
Based in Papua New Guinea, this role oversees the production of transportable buildings, prefabricated kits, bridge decks, and other timber-based construction solutions. You will be responsible for managing a team of 60 staff and ensuring consistent, high-quality output across all projects.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage the Kit Division team to ensure timely and high-standard project completion.
• Interpret and work from detailed technical drawings, specifications, and Bills of Quantities.
• Supervise the manufacturing of kit-set and transportable products, ensuring efficiency and quality.
• Oversee stock control, materials management, and logistics for completed items.
• Operate and supervise specialized machinery including Docking Saws, Double End Tenoner, Scarfing equipment, and RF presses.
• Maintain a safe and productive working environment in line with company procedures.
• Provide hands-on support and mentoring to workshop staff, including tradespeople and apprentices.
What You’ll Bring
• Recognised qualification in Carpentry and/or Joinery
• Minimum 5 years’ experience required in a Carpentry/Joinery Foreman or Manager position, or similar leadership role.
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage production in a workshop environment.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and woodworking equipment.
• Ability to read complex drawings and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience driving workplace improvement, quality control, and team performance.
